Admit To Your Dream

Some things just aren’t meant to be
in the ways we have imagined
yet look carefully and see
it’s better than we fathomed

Each of our dreams and yes desires
were given for a reason
it may not be time for them to come
it may not yet be their season

But to turn our hearts away
and forget toward what we’re aiming
is the worst and hardest way
to live the life we’re living.

~Minna Bryant

It’s easy to tuck away our dreams in pursuit of the life others expect from us. A life we capitulate to living because other people think we should live it. And let’s be honest, it’s the easy road – go along to get along, even if that only goes up to a certain point.

We believe that the dream isn’t realistic for us – even if others are achieving it all around us.

We believe that going after the dream will shatter what we have now. We’re “comfortable enough” with what we have now and don’t want to make changes.

I get that. Comfort is great state of being. If that’s where you really want to stay, that’s your decision.

But if we’re dreaming it, then we already have everything we need to start because we always start where we are.

And looking beyond the starting point is the very thing making our fears look bigger, meaner and nastier then they are.

If you aren’t yet taking action on your dream is it because you haven’t yet admitted to yourself that you have it?

  3. The hubby and I are just beginning a joint pursuit of our “post kids” life/dream. It is exciting and scary, but you hit a great point here….dreaming can only become reality when you take action! Admitting you have a dream is where it starts! Great post :).
